Charles William “Charlie” Miller is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 19. He assumed office on January 1, 2021. His current term ends on January 1, 2025. Miller is running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 19. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Miller graduated from South Brunswick High School in 1984. He earned a degree in basic law enforcement from Cape Fear Community College. His career experience includes working as the chief deputy of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the CEO and owner of Brunswick Embroidery & Screenprinting, a regional sales manager of BEST Uniforms Inc., and a nuclear security specialist with Progress Energy Nuclear Plant. Miller is a member of the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #249.

In 2020, Miller was elected to the North Carolina General Assembly for House District 19, which served Brunswick and New Hanover counties. As a Freshman Legislator, Miller was appointed to several committees, working groups, and he founded the Law Enforcement Caucus with over 40 members from both chambers.

Miller has served for more than 33 years in law enforcement, retiring as Chief Deputy for the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office. He also served for 14 years on the Brunswick County Board of Education.

As of the 2020 Census, North Carolina state representatives represented an average of 87,116 residents. After the 2010 Census, each member represented 79,715 residents. North Carolina House of Representatives District 19 is represented by Charles Miller (R).
