Representative Erin Paré
Erin Pauling Paré, born in 1979, is a Republican member of the North Carolina General Assembly. She represents the state’s 37th House district, which includes the townships of Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina within its boundaries. She has been serving in the North Carolina House of Representatives since January 2021.
Erin grew up in Herndon, Virginia. She graduated with a B.A. in Government International Politics and an M.A. in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University. After 12 years as an active-duty Army family, Erin and her husband Wayne, a 24-year Army veteran, settled in Holly Springs.
In addition to her political career, Erin is a small business owner. She and her husband are the owners of a sporting goods store. She is also a military spouse and a mother of two school-aged children.
Erin’s political career began when she won the election on November 3, 2020, representing the Republican Party. She secured fifty percent of the vote while her closest rival, Democrat Sydney Batch secured forty-seven percent. In defeating the incumbent Sydney Batch, Erin raised $224,642.
For the 2023-2024 Legislative Session, Representative Paré serves on the House Committees on Health (Chair), Appropriations - Health and Human Services (Vice Chair), Energy and Public Utilities (Vice Chair), Alcoholic Beverage Control, Appropriations, Military and Veterans Affairs, Regulatory Reform, Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House, and House Select Committee on Substance Abuse.
Erin has been appointed by Speaker of the House Tim Moore to serve on the Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations, the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on General Government, the Joint Legislative Economic Development and Global Engagement Oversight Committee, and the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services (Vice Chair).
In her freshman session in 2021-2022, Representative Paré served as Chair of the House Select Committee on Advancing Women in S.T.E.M. In April of 2023, Paré was appointed to the Interstate Commission on Educational Opportunity for Military Children State Council. In addition, Rep. Paré has been appointed to the office of Deputy Conference Chair.
Erin is a member of the Early Childhood Caucus, the Life Science Caucus, the Joint Bipartisan Arts Caucus, and serves as an officer of the bipartisan Legislative Women’s Caucus. Erin is a Leader of the Workforce Development legislative working group and a member of the Election Integrity and Homeland Security legislative working groups.
