Kanika Shevon Brown is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. She represents the 71st district in the North Carolina House of Representatives. The 71st district includes parts of Forsyth County.

Brown assumed office on January 1, 2023. Her current term ends on January 1, 2025. She is running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 71. She is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024.

In the 2022 general election for North Carolina House of Representatives District 71, Brown won with 100% of the votes, totaling 18,196 votes. She had previously run in 2020 against then-incumbent Evelyn Terry but lost in the Democratic primary. However, in 2022, she ran for the same seat once again and won against two other opponents, one being Evelyn Terry’s husband Frederick Terry.
