Kristin Dutrow Baker, born in 1963, is a dedicated Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. She has been representing the 82nd district, which includes constituents in Cabarrus County, since her initial appointment in March 2020.

Kristin Dutrow Baker, born in 1963, is a dedicated Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. She has been representing the 82nd district, which includes constituents in Cabarrus County, since her initial appointment in March 2020.

Baker was born as Kristin Leah Dutrow and is married to Scott Baker. They reside in Concord, North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 1985 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar, and her medical degree in 1989 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.

In addition to her political career, Baker practices psychiatry in Concord, North Carolina. She has served Cabarrus County families for the last twenty-five years as a physician, as a Board of Trustees member for Cannon School, and as a volunteer with Present Age Ministries to help sex trafficking victims.

In the 2021-2022 session, Baker was assigned to several committees including the House Appropriations on Health and Human Services Committee, Education - Universities Committee, Families, Children, and Aging Policy Committee, Health Committee, and Insurance Committee. She served as the Chair for the House Appropriations on Health and Human Services Committee and the Health Committee, and as the Vice chair for the Appropriations Committee.

Baker ran for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 82 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. Her current term ends on January 1, 2025.
