Mark Pless is a member of the Republican Party and a representative of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 118. He assumed office on January 1, 2021, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. Pless is running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 118. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Pless’ career experience includes working as a paramedic and an insurance agent with N.C. Farm Bureau. He has been a North Carolina Paramedic since 1993, working in Haywood County as well as Greenville and Pickens County in South Carolina. Pless was a firefighter with Center Pigeon Fire Department in Haywood County for almost 30 years, being at the forefront of public service in his community.

In the 2023-2024 session, Pless was assigned to the following committees: Appropriations Committee, House Appropriations on Health and Human Services Committee, Federal Relations and American Indian Affairs Committee (as Vice Chair), Wildlife Resources Committee, and Disaster Recovery and Homeland Security. In the 2021-2022 session, Pless was assigned to the following committees: House Appropriations on Health and Human Services Committee, Federal Relations and American Indian Affairs Committee (as Vice chair), Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, House Transportation Committee, Wildlife Resources Committee, and Appropriations Committee.
