Representative Mike Clampitt
Mike Clampitt is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 119 in the North Carolina House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 1, 2021, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. He is running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 119 and is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Born on February 17, 1955, Mike Clampitt earned an associate degree in fire science and technology from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in 1976. Prior to his political career, he worked as the House Assistant Sergeant at Arms for the North Carolina House of Representatives, the fire captain of the Charlotte Fire Department, and the director of fire/rescue training with Central Piedmont Community College.
In terms of legislative work, Clampitt has been assigned to several committees during the 2023-2024 session. These include the Appropriations Committee, House Appropriations on Justice and Public Safety Committee (Vice Chair), Education - Community Colleges Committee, Families, Children, and Aging Policy Committee (Chair), Federal Relations and American Indian Affairs Committee (Chair), Regulatory Reform Committee, and Wildlife Resources Committee (Vice Chair).
