Wayne Sasser, also known as Clayton Wayne Sasser, was born on February 1, 1950. He is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He represents the 67th district in the North Carolina House of Representatives. This district includes all of Stanly County and parts of Cabarrus County.

Sasser assumed office on January 1, 2019. His current term is set to end on January 1, 2025. Before his political career, Sasser was a pharmacist by profession. He ran his own businesses and chose to raise his family in the same community where he grew up.

In the 2023-2024 session, Sasser was assigned to several committees. He served as the Chair of the Appropriations Committee and the Health Committee. He was also the Vice Chair of the House Appropriations on Health and Human Services Committee and the Insurance Committee. In addition, he was a member of the Agriculture Committee, the Families, Children, and Aging Policy Committee, and the Local Government Committee.

Sasser has had a successful electoral history. He won the general election for the North Carolina House of Representatives District 67 on November 8, 2022. Prior to this, he had defeated incumbent representative Justin Burr in the Republican primary.
