Curt Kreun is a dedicated public servant and a member of the North Dakota Senate, representing the 42nd district. He has been serving in this role since December 1, 2016, succeeding Mac Schneider. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, Kreun represented the 43rd district in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 2010 to 2014.

Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Kreun is a proud member of the Republican Party. He is married to Linda and they have two children. Kreun received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Mayville State University.

Before entering politics, Kreun was a successful small business owner. He owned a childcare center and a commercial water hauling company. He also worked as an energy consultant, auto center manager, and construction manager. His diverse professional background has given him a unique perspective on the needs of his constituents and the challenges they face.

In addition to his legislative duties, Kreun has held several leadership roles in his community. He served as the Chair of the Grand Forks Housing Authority and was a member of the Grand Forks City Council from the city’s fourth ward. He has also been involved with the Alerus Commission, Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce, East Grand Forks Technical College, Salvation Army, AM Rotary, Prairie Harvest Foundation, and the Lake Agassiz Water Authority.

During the 2017 legislative session, Kreun served as the vice chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. In the 2021-2022 session, he served as chair of the committee. His work in the legislature has been marked by a commitment to improving the lives of North Dakotans and advancing the state’s interests.

Kreun ran for re-election to the North Dakota State Senate to represent District 42 and won in the general election on November 3, 2020. His continued service in the Senate is a testament to his dedication to his constituents and his ability to effectively represent their interests.
