Kent Weston is an American farmer and politician, currently serving as a member of the North Dakota Senate from the 9th district. He is a member of the Republican Party.

Born and raised in Sarles, North Dakota, Kent attended elementary school and later high school at Border Central in Calvin. After high school, he went on to attend North Dakota State University (NDSU), where he received a degree in Agricultural Engineering. After graduation, he worked for three years in Grand Forks at Nodak Rural Electric. However, his heart was always set on returning to the farm.

In addition to his work as a farmer, Kent also owns an agronomy business. His commitment to his community is evident in his service on two different school boards - the Rock Lake School Board and the Border Central School Board.

Kent’s political career began when he was elected to the North Dakota Senate in 2023. As a senator, he has been actively involved in various committees, including the Interim Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Education Committee, and Human Services Committee. He also holds the position of Senate Portfolio Leader for the Turtle Mountain Reservation.

Kent is married to Suzanne and they have three children. Despite his busy schedule, Kent always makes time for his family. His dedication to his work, community, and family is a testament to his strong character and leadership skills.
