Randy Burckhard, born in 1952 in Rugby, North Dakota, is an American politician and a member of the Republican party. He is currently serving as a member of the North Dakota State Senate from the 5th District, a position he has held since 2011.

Randy Burckhard, born in 1952 in Rugby, North Dakota, is an American politician and a member of the Republican party. He is currently serving as a member of the North Dakota State Senate from the 5th District, a position he has held since 2011.

Before his political career, Burckhard worked as an executive at SRT Communications. He has also held several leadership positions in the community, including Past President of the Minot CVB and MSU Alumni Association, Past Chair of the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce, and involvement with the Minot Area Development Corporation and Souris Valley United Way. He was also part of the TF21 Executive Committee, AF Global Strike Command Civic Leaders, and MSU Board of Regents.

In addition to his professional and political roles, Burckhard has been recognized with the MSU Alumni Golden Award and is a member of the Rotary Club. He also served as a member of the Minot City Council.

Burckhard is married to Pat, and they have three children and nine grandchildren. They reside at 1837 15th Street SW, Minot, ND 58701-6158.

In his role as a state senator, Burckhard has sponsored numerous bills and served on several committees. He was the President pro tempore of the North Dakota Senate from January 5, 2021, to April 14, 2021. He was succeeded by Larry Luick in this role.

Burckhard ran for re-election to the North Dakota State Senate to represent District 5 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on December 1, 2026.
