Representative Steve Swiontek
Steve Swiontek is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He is currently serving as a representative in the North Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 10. He assumed office on December 1, 2022, and his current term ends on December 1, 2024.
Swiontek has had a long and distinguished career in the financial services industry, spanning over 44 years. He is the retired Chair, President, and CEO of Gate City Bank and continues to serve as the Chair of the Board at Gate City Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Military Science from North Dakota State University, which he earned in 1977.
In addition to his work in the financial sector, Swiontek has been actively involved in his local community. He served on the Fargo Board of Education from 1985 to 1991 and was a board member of Cass County Electric from 1996 to 2017. He was also recognized with the Legacy Leader Award by the FMWF Chamber in 2019 for his contributions to the community.
Swiontek is a lifelong North Dakotan. After graduating from Edgeley High School, he attended North Dakota State University where he was elected by his peers to serve as Student Body President. He is married to Mary Anne and they have two children and three grandchildren.
In his political career, Swiontek has been a part of the North Dakota House of Representatives twice. His first tenure was from 1977 to 1984. After a long hiatus, he returned to the House in 2023 and has been serving since then.
Swiontek is running for re-election to the North Dakota House of Representatives to represent District 10. He is on the ballot in the Republican primary on June 11, 2024.
