Steiner’s journey in the field of education saw her earning a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. Her professional life includes her role as an executive director for the North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties and the North Dakota Coal Conversion Counties Association.

In addition to her political career, Steiner is also the owner of Big Sky Condos and works as a realtor for the Home and Land Company. She has been involved in various roles and responsibilities, including the Energy Supply Taskforce, National Council State Legislatures, and the Legislative Energy Horizons Institute, where she earned a certificate in 2018. She is also a part of the Badlands Advisory Group and the DSU Nursing Program Advisory Committee. Her commitment to social causes is evident in her association with Badlands Right to Life and Rotary.
