Representative Amanda Clinton

Amanda Clinton is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 71. She assumed office on June 18, 2025, and her current term will conclude on November 18, 2026.

Clinton, a Cherokee Nation citizen, was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 1978 or 1979 and raised near Rose. She attended Kenwood Elementary School and Locust Grove High School before beginning her higher education at the University of Oklahoma. She later transferred to Oklahoma State University, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Her educational background provided her with a strong foundation in leadership and public service, which she carried into her professional and political career. Clinton has also worked as a business owner, giving her firsthand experience with the challenges faced by small businesses and local economies.

Her path to the Oklahoma House came through a special election in 2025, held to fill the vacancy left by Amanda Swope. Clinton won the Democratic primary and went on to secure victory in the special general election on June 10, 2025. Her campaign emphasized issues such as education, reproductive rights, clean water, and economic equity, reflecting her commitment to progressive values and community advocacy. Endorsed by local leaders, including Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols, Clinton positioned herself as a strong advocate for Tulsa residents and for broader statewide reforms.
