Representative Dick Lowe

Dick Lowe is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 56. He assumed office on November 18, 2020, and his current term will conclude on November 18, 2026.

Lowe was born and raised in Oklahoma, graduating from Ninnekah High School before pursuing higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Oklahoma State University–Stillwater and later completed a Master of Arts degree in educational leadership and administration from Southern Nazarene University. His professional career has been rooted in agriculture and education, as he has worked as a rancher and since 2008 has served as an agricultural instructor at the Canadian Valley Technology Center. This background has strongly influenced his legislative priorities, particularly in areas related to education, workforce development, and agriculture.

In the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Lowe has taken on leadership responsibilities, serving as Assistant Majority Whip in the 59th Legislature. He has been active on several committees, including the House Committee on Common Education, where he has served as chair, as well as the Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee on Education, and the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. His committee work reflects his focus on strengthening educational opportunities, supporting rural communities, and ensuring responsible resource management. Lowe’s district, rooted in agriculture and manufacturing, has shaped his legislative approach, emphasizing policies that sustain local industries and promote economic growth.

Lowe first won election in 2020, succeeding David Perryman, and secured re-election in 2024 when both the Republican primary and general election were canceled, allowing him to continue his service without opposition. His tenure has been marked by efforts to improve educational oversight and expand opportunities for students across Oklahoma, while also advocating for rural development and agricultural sustainability. Beyond his legislative work, Lowe remains connected to his community through his professional and personal commitments, balancing his role as a public servant with his dedication to ranching and education. He is also a father of three children, underscoring his personal investment in the future of Oklahoma’s families and communities.
