Senator Mark Mann

Mark Mann is a Democratic member of the Oklahoma State Senate, representing District 46. He assumed office on November 13, 2024, and his current term is set to end on November 18, 2026.

Born and raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Mark Mann has dedicated his career to public service and community advocacy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international government from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a recipient of the President’s Leadership Class Scholarship. Before his tenure in the Senate, Mann served on the Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education, representing District 4. During his time on the board, he was twice elected vice chair by his peers and became known for his commitment to increasing school funding, ensuring transparency in school finances, and championing student welfare.

Mann’s leadership extended beyond education. He has been actively involved in various nonprofit organizations, including Oklahoma Lawyers for Children and Families, and the Oklahoman Alliance for Healthy Families. His efforts have focused on improving public health, supporting youth services, and fostering arts education. Additionally, Mann has held roles in organizations such as the Bricktown Rotary Club and the Oklahoma State School Boards Association, showcasing his dedication to community development.

In the political arena, Mann’s journey to the Oklahoma Senate was marked by a decisive victory in the 2024 elections. He defeated Republican candidate Charles Barton and independent David Pilchman in the general election, securing over 60% of the vote. His campaign emphasized progressive policies, community engagement, and a vision for a better Oklahoma.

Outside of his professional life, Mann is a family man. He and his wife, Tonya, an educator, have two sons, Alex and Andrew. Alex is an attorney based in Denver, while Andrew is a student at Classen School of Advanced Studies High School in Oklahoma City. Mann’s personal and professional experiences have shaped his approach to governance, making him a respected figure in Oklahoma politics.
