Senator Nikki Nice

Nikki Nice is a member of the Democratic Party serving in the Oklahoma State Senate. She represents District 48, having assumed office on November 13, 2024. Her current term is set to end on November 18, 2026.

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Nikki Nice is a fourth-generation Oklahoman deeply connected to her community. She graduated from Northeast High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcasting from Langston University, a historically Black university. She later pursued a Master’s degree in regional and city planning at the University of Oklahoma, showcasing her commitment to understanding and improving urban development.

Before her tenure in the Oklahoma State Senate, Nikki Nice served as a councilwoman for Ward 7 in Oklahoma City from 2018 to 2024. Her election to the City Council marked a historic moment, as she became the tenth woman and the second woman of color to serve in this capacity since Oklahoma City’s incorporation in 1890. During her time on the council, she focused on community development, public health initiatives, and fostering economic growth in underserved areas.

Nikki Nice’s career prior to politics was equally impactful. She worked as a radio and television personality, using her platform to engage with and inform the public. Her experience in media allowed her to connect with a wide audience and advocate for issues close to her heart.

Throughout her career, Nikki Nice has been recognized for her dedication and contributions to her community. She has received numerous awards, including the Opio Toure Medallion Award, the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition Shero of the Year, and the Journal Record Achievers Under 40. Her accolades reflect her tireless efforts to uplift her constituents and address critical issues.

In addition to her professional achievements, Nikki Nice has been actively involved in various organizations and initiatives. She has served on boards such as the Ralph Ellison Library executive board and Women Lead Oklahoma, demonstrating her commitment to education and leadership development. Her involvement in programs like Leadership Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma Conservancy Leadership Academy further highlights her dedication to fostering growth and collaboration within her community.
