Representative Dwayne Yunker
Representative Dwayne Yunker is the Oregon state representative for House District 3, Josephine County, which includes Grants Pass and surrounding towns in the southwest section of the state.
Dwayne is a seasoned and dedicated Josephine County public servant, renowned for his civic and business leadership in the community as a veteran, a volunteer member of the Grants Pass City Council, and as a successful real estate entrepreneur.
Dwayne’s commitment to public service began when he enlisted in the United States Navy during his junior year at Hidden Valley High School in Grants Pass. After the Navy, Dwayne’s unwavering desire to serve led him to the Marine Corps, where he served over 10 years of active duty.
Dwayne left the Marines to become a full-time father after gaining custody of his eldest son. Undeterred, he joined the Army National Guard and continued his service, adding another 11 years of active duty. Dwayne’s military career took him around the world. He received numerous awards and medals, reflecting his dedication, commitment to duty, and sacrifice.
Dwayne’s leadership, strategic planning, and management experience in the military along with his degree in business administration became the foundation for his thriving real estate business in Grants Pass. On the Grants Pass City Council, Dwayne has a reputation for being willing to be heard and taking a principled stand.
As a state representative, Dwayne takes a constitutional approach to lawmaking and wants to make sure that local families have the right to make choices for themselves. His values include education freedom, individual rights, and pro-life policies.
Dwayne and his wife Gina, a fifth-grade teacher, have four children, including three currently in college. They reside in Grants Pass.
