Representative Chris Pielli
Chris Pielli is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. He is currently serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 156th district since 2023.
Born on January 20, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York, Chris is a longtime resident of Chester County and returned to West Chester after serving honorably in the U.S. Army. During his time in the military, he completed the U.S. Army Airborne course, also known as the paratrooper course.
Chris Pielli has built his career around service to the country and community. He is an attorney by trade, barred in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. However, his career has been diverse, including roles as a soldier, a teacher, a Correctional Counselor/Officer, and a Veteran’s advocate.
Before his current role, he served as the Recorder of Deeds for Chester County, Pennsylvania. He held this position from January 2, 2019, to November 30, 2022.
In addition to his political career, Chris Pielli has also been involved in various committees. He is the Secretary of the Judiciary Committee, a member of the Committee on Committees, Environmental Resources & Energy, Game & Fisheries, and Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the Southeast Delegation and is a member of the LGBTQ Equality Caucus.
Chris Pielli was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2022. He graduated from East High School in 1984, earned a B.A. in political science from Temple University in 1988, and a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2000. He served in the United States Army and United States Army Reserves from 1989 to 1995, during which he received two Army Commendation medals.
He has also worked as a corrections officer and counselor at Chester County Prison, as an attorney, and as the director of the Chester County OIC Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program. He was elected as a supervisor for West Goshen Township and as the recorder of deeds for Chester County before being elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 2023 term.
