Joe Emrick is a distinguished politician from the U.S. commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Republican Party and has been serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 137th district since January 4, 2011. He succeeded Richard Grucela to assume this office.

Emrick resides in Upper Nazareth Township with his spouse, Christine Emrick, and their two children. He is an alumnus of Kutztown University, where he earned his Master’s degree, and Lycoming College, where he completed his B.A.

In his political career, Emrick has made significant contributions to various committees. He currently sits on the Consumer Affairs, Local Government, Professional Licensure, and Tourism & Recreational Development committees. His work in these committees reflects his commitment to serving the people of Pennsylvania.

Before his political career, Emrick was a teacher. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education from Lycoming College and his master’s degree in education from Kutztown University. His professional experience includes working as a teacher in the Stroudsburg and Pleasant Valley school districts before teaching in the Lower Moreland School District.

Emrick has also served on the board of supervisors for the Upper Nazareth Township, where he eventually became chairman. His tenure in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives began on December 1, 2010, and his current term ends on November 30, 2024.

Over the years, Emrick has held various committee assignments. In the 2023-2024 legislative session, he was assigned as the Chair of the Commerce Committee. In the 2021-2022 session, he served as the Vice-Chair of the Professional Licensure Committee and the Subcommittee Chair on Consumer Protection of the Consumer Affairs Committee. He was also a member of the House Local Government Committee and the Tourism & Recreational Development Committee.
