Joe McAndrew was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2023 to represent the 32nd Legislative District in Allegheny County. Born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, around 1990, Joe grew up in a hard-working family. His mom is a bus garage manager, and his dad is a union mechanic. He honors the values of hard work in his own career.

Joe graduated from Fox Chapel Area High School in 2008 and earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Dayton in 2012. He ran an unsuccessful campaign for mayor of Oakmont in 2007. From 2012 to 2014, he worked as a research analyst in the Office of Demographics for the Democratic Caucus in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

In addition to his political career, Joe has experience in the business sector. He worked as a partner with Onpoint Operations & Consulting, an account executive with Sparq Designs, and a senior account manager with Avanti Consulting Group. He also served as the executive director of the Allegheny County Democratic Committee in 2021.

Joe assumed office on February 21, 2023, after winning a special general election for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to represent District 32 on February 7, 2023. His current term ends on November 30, 2024. In the 2023-2024 term, McAndrew was assigned to the following committees: Children & Youth Committee, Gaming Oversight Committee, Liquor Control Committee, and House Transportation Committee.
