Representative Milou MacKenzie
V. Milou Mackenzie is an American politician and a member of the Republican party. She has been serving as a representative of the 131st district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since 2021. Interestingly, she is the mother of Ryan Mackenzie, who is another Republican Lehigh Valley-area state representative from the 187th District. They are the first mother-son pair to simultaneously serve in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Mackenzie was born and raised in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, and she currently resides in Lower Saucon Township, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Nazareth High School in 1968 and received a BA in English from Cedar Crest College in 1972.
In 2020, Mackenzie was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 131st District, which includes parts of Northampton County, Lehigh County, and Montgomery County. She defeated Democratic candidate Kevin Branco with 54.3% of the vote in the general election.
Mackenzie currently sits on several committees including Children & Youth; Education; Human Services; Housing & Community Development; and Urban Affairs.
Before her political career, Mackenzie owned and operated V.M. Mackenzie Interior Design, LLC for more than 30 years. She also has years of teaching experience in several local school districts and in a private school in Allentown.
Mackenzie is married to Kevin Brown, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a veteran. She is a mother of two sons and a grandmother of three.
