Zachary Mako is a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 183. He is a Republican, serving parts of Northampton County and Lehigh County. He has been a member of the House since 2017.

Mako’s professional occupation is a Military Helicopter Pilot. He completed his education at Northampton Area High School in 2007, Northampton Area Community College in 2013, and Kutztown University in 2015. He has been serving in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 2008 to the present.

In terms of his legislative work, Mako is assigned to several committees. These include the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Impact and Infrastructure Finance, Professional Licensure, Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Facilities. He has sponsored several pieces of legislation in the 2023-2024 session.

The 183rd Legislative District, which Mako represents, consists of parts of Lehigh County and Northampton County. This includes the townships of Lowhill, North Whitehall, Allen, East Allen, Lehigh, and Moore, as well as the boroughs of Slatington, Bath, North Catasauqua, Northampton, and Walnutport.

Mako has been actively involved in various initiatives and has made significant contributions to his district. For instance, he announced more than $5.1 million in grants awarded to projects throughout the 183rd Legislative District through the Commonwealth Financing Authority in December 2023.

He has also sponsored legislation to address the lack of barber-teachers in Pennsylvania, which was approved by the House in October 2023. Furthermore, he authored legislation requiring timely notification of environmental violations at quarries and landfills, which was passed by the House in June 2023.

Mako is committed to fighting for property tax reform, job creation, and infrastructure improvements. He is currently serving his fourth term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
