About Senator Carmen Medina Calderón
Carmen Medina Calderón was born on August 18, 1981 in the municipality of San Juan. He was a product of public school, from which two of his great passions arose: education and sports. From his early years he stood out in athletics particularly in speed and jumping events and the discipline of Taekwondo, as well as for his academic work. He participated in the traditional Fairs of the Athletic League University student for four years, representing the Río Piedras de la Campus University of Puerto Rico.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education Arts from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from the Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico, Cupey Campus. It also has another master’s Degree in School Administration and Supervision from Caribbean University, Carolina Campus. He achieved his PhD degree from Southeastern University, Campus from San Juan, in Educational Technology and Distance Education. Your Thesis, Self-Efficacy of Physical Education Teachers and their Relationship with Competence in the Technological Integration to the Classroom was one of the most highlighted in the past mentioned university.
She has worked as a Physical Education Supervisor in the Educational Region of Humacao, attached to the Department of Education, where it planned and coordinated academic, sports and administrative activities for all schools belonging to said Region. She was also a level Physical Education teacher elementary and higher and School Director III, a role he performed with great success, highlighting the organization, in a flexible and detailed manner, of the entire activity teacher at school.
In his role as an athlete, Medina Calderón has served as Leader Recreational of the Municipality of Loíza where he developed activities with associations recreational and institutions that work with special populations for the purpose of enrich the recreational experience of citizens, among others.
On November 5, 2024, she was elected Representative for District Number 37 on which includes the municipalities of Loíza, Río Grande and Canóvanas. He was appointed to chair the Eastern Region Commission of the House of Representatives.
