Representative Lisie Janet Burgos Muñiz

Lisie Janet Burgos Muñiz is a member of the Project Dignity party and currently serves in the Puerto Rico House of Representatives, representing an at-large district. She assumed office on January 2, 2021, and her current term will conclude on January 2, 2029.

Born in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Burgos Muñiz pursued her higher education at the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, graduating cum laude. She continued her academic journey at the same institution, completing both a Juris Doctor and a master’s degree in law. Her professional background as an attorney and notary public provided her with extensive experience in negotiation, arbitration, and legal document preparation, skills that later informed her legislative work.

Burgos Muñiz entered politics as part of Proyecto Dignidad, a relatively new political movement in Puerto Rico that emphasizes conservative social values and integrity in governance. She was elected as an at-large representative in the Puerto Rico House of Representatives in the 2020 general election and began her tenure in January 2021. In November 2024, she successfully ran for re-election, securing another term that extends until 2029. As an at-large representative, she does not represent a single geographic district but instead serves the entire population of Puerto Rico, giving her a broad legislative mandate.
