Senator Luis Daniel Colón La Santa

An enthusiastic, dynamic young leader with a high sense of sensitivity and responsibility toward the needs of his people. Since childhood, he has stood out for his commitment to defending his ideas, but also for his capacity for dialogue and achieving lines of understanding that advance the causes that unite us as a people. He was born 34 years ago in the town of Gurabo. Gurabo has been the town that saw him grow and develop. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Accounting from Ana G. Méndez University. In his professional career, he has distinguished himself as a merchant, but he also worked in: the Department of Labor and Human Resources in the Unemployment Insurance area; Service Representative at the CRIM; and Finance Director of the Labor Law Administration. These spaces served as the perfect setting to develop his management and strategic leadership skills. At 24 years old, he formalized his first political candidacy for the House of Representatives for District 31 (Caguas-Gurabo), and since then, he did not rest until becoming, in the year 2024, the Elected Senator for the District of Humacao. Currently, he chairs the Labor and Labor Relations Committee of the Senate of Puerto Rico. His plans include child development, support for populations with special needs, and economic development through the strengthening of small and medium-sized merchants. He will be a facilitator between state agencies and the needs identified by citizens, mayors, and organizations providing services in the 10 municipalities of the District of Humacao.
