Ramón Torres is an at-large member of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives representing the Popular Democratic Party. He assumed office on January 2, 2025, and his current term is scheduled to end on January 2, 2029.

About Senator Ramón Torres



Born in San Germán, he studied at the University of Puerto Rico in Ponce where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in marketing, at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Ponce where he graduated in Law and is currently close to completing a master’s degree in Public Administration at the UPR-RP. He has a law degree and a notary since 2004.

He worked on the Commission of Inquiry, Prosecution and Appeals; in The Society for Legal Aid. In 2016 he was appointed Acting Secretary of the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation. He was a lawyer in the private practice of law focused on criminal, family and electoral cases. Since 2018 he has been a professor in the Departments of Social Sciences and Criminal Justice at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico Metro campus. He has offered Continuing Legal Education courses at the UIPR Law School.

He was Electoral Commissioner of the PPD and public policy advisor to the President of the Senate from May 2023 to December 2024. He is married to Atty. Nathalie García and is the father of a girl.
