Representative Bill Hager
William Winston Hager (born February 6, 1960) is an American engineer and politician. He hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, but later made his home in Hampton, South Carolina. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from The Citadel. His professional journey includes working as an engineer and an engineering manager with SCE&G.
In 2020, Hager ran for a seat on the Hampton County Council, demonstrating his commitment to public service. Then, in 2022, he achieved victory by defeating incumbent Shedron D. Williams to represent South Carolina House of Representatives District 122.
Representative Hager’s dedication to his community extends beyond politics. He previously served as the chair of the Hampton County Economic Development Commission. Additionally, he was appointed by the Chairman of the House Education and Public Works Committee, Rep. Shannon Erickson, to serve as her designee on the Education Oversight Committee (EOC) in South Carolina.
