Representative Paul Wickensimer

Paul Wickensimer is a Republican member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 22. He assumed office on November 11, 2024, and his current term is set to end on November 9, 2026.

Paul Wickensimer has had a long and distinguished career in public service. Before joining the South Carolina House of Representatives, he served as the Greenville County Clerk of Court for 23 years, a role he held until his retirement in 2023. During his tenure, he was recognized for his dedication and efficiency in managing court operations, earning him widespread respect in the community. Prior to his time as Clerk of Court, Wickensimer was a member of the Greenville County Council for 15 years, where he also served as chairman from 1997 to 1998.

In 2024, Wickensimer decided to run for the South Carolina House of Representatives after the incumbent, Jason Elliott, announced his candidacy for the state Senate. Wickensimer secured the Republican nomination by defeating Greenville County Council member Stan Tzouvelekas in the primary election. He went on to win the general election against Democratic nominee Brann Fowler, marking the beginning of his legislative career.

As a state representative, Wickensimer serves on the House Judiciary and Legislative Oversight committees, where he focuses on improving government efficiency and ensuring accountability. Outside of his professional life, Paul Wickensimer is a family man who resides in Greenville, South Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Wesleyan University, which he earned in 2007. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor, awarded to him in 2021 for his exceptional contributions to the state.
