Representative Robert Reese

Robert Reese is a Democratic Party member serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives. He represents District 70, Reese assumed office on November 11, 2024, and his current term is set to end on November 9, 2026.

Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Robert Reese has dedicated his career to public service and community advocacy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Morehouse College in 1994 and later pursued an MBA at the University of South Carolina, graduating in 2001. His professional journey includes roles as a grant writer and as Vice Chair of Operations for the U.S. Biosphere Network. Reese’s commitment to environmental and social justice is evident in his leadership as President of the Lower Richland Branch of the NAACP from 2019 to 2021.

Reese’s political career began with his successful campaign for the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2024. He defeated two candidates in the Democratic primary and won the general election unopposed. As a legislator, Reese serves on the House Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environmental Affairs and Operations and Management committees. His legislative priorities include environmental conservation, community development, and equitable access to resources for underserved populations.

Outside of his professional and political life, Reese is a devoted family man. He resides in Hopkins, South Carolina, with his two daughters, Kayla Sherron and Sierra Marie. His personal values and experiences continue to shape his approach to governance, making him a respected figure in his district and beyond. Reese’s dedication to his constituents and his vision for a better South Carolina remain central to his work in the state legislature.
