Representative Greg Vital
Greg Vital is an American businessman and Republican politician. Born on January 27, 1956, he has lived in the Ooltewah-Georgetown area of Hamilton County, Tennessee, since approximately the early 1970s. Greg Vital received a business degree from Southern Adventist University.
His entrepreneurial journey began when he co-founded Morning Pointe Senior Living in the mid-1990s. The company owns and operates senior living and Alzheimer’s care facilities across five states. Vital’s commitment to serving senior citizens has been remarkable.
In addition to his business endeavors, Greg Vital has been actively involved in public service. He previously served on the Collegedale city commission. Despite narrowly losing a primary challenge to state senator Todd Gardenhire in 2012, Vital remained dedicated to making a positive impact.
Following the passing of Representative Mike Carter, Greg Vital announced his candidacy for the 29th District seat in the Tennessee House of Representatives. In the special election held on September 14, 2021, Vital secured victory with 3,884 votes, defeating Democratic challenger DeAngelo Jelks, who received 964 votes.
Representative Vital’s district includes much of eastern Hamilton County, encompassing communities such as Ooltewah and Georgetown. His tenure has been marked by conservative values, commitment to decorum, and support for his constituents.
Greg Vital’s legacy extends beyond business and politics. He is a nationally recognized land and wildlife conservationist and a philanthropist dedicated to the education of young people in Southeast Tennessee.
In summary, Greg Vital’s journey from business co-founder to elected representative exemplifies his dedication to community service and the well-being of Tennessee residents.
