Senator Tom Hatcher

Tom Hatcher, a member of the Republican Party, serves in the Tennessee State Senate representing District 2. He assumed office on November 5, 2024, and his current term is set to end on November 7, 2028.

Tom Hatcher’s journey into public service is deeply rooted in his upbringing and professional experiences. Raised on a rural family farm in Blount County, Tennessee, he learned the value of hard work and community service early in life. His career began in law enforcement, where he served as a deputy in the Blount County Sheriff’s Office for over a decade. This role allowed him to develop a strong connection with the community and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by local residents.

Following his tenure in law enforcement, Hatcher transitioned to a leadership role as the Blount County Circuit Court Clerk, a position he held for nearly 30 years. During this time, he became a respected figure in local government, known for his dedication to improving the judicial system and supporting local governance. His leadership extended beyond his immediate responsibilities, as he served as Chair of the County Officials Legislative Committee for eight years and Chair of the State Circuit Court Clerks Committee for 15 years. These roles showcased his ability to collaborate with legislators and community leaders to draft and pass impactful legislation.

Hatcher’s commitment to public service is matched by his dedication to his family. He and his wife, Donna, have been married for over 45 years and are proud parents and grandparents. Their strong family values have been a cornerstone of Hatcher’s approach to leadership and community engagement.
