Representative Brent Money

Brent Money is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 2. He assumed office on January 14, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 12, 2027.

Born and raised in Greenville, Texas, Brent Money has deep roots in the community he now serves. He pursued higher education at Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2001. Later, he attended Southern Methodist University, earning his law degree in 2006. His professional background as an attorney and business owner has equipped him with a strong understanding of the legal and economic challenges faced by his constituents.

Brent Money’s journey into politics began with a desire to bring conservative values and practical solutions to the forefront of Texas governance. In March 2024, he defeated the incumbent Jill Dutton in the Republican primary for District 2. Later that year, he secured a decisive victory in the general election, defeating Kristen Washington with nearly 80% of the vote. His campaign focused on issues such as economic development, education reform, and protecting individual liberties.

Since taking office, Brent Money has been an active legislator, introducing and supporting bills that align with his commitment to conservative principles. He has worked on legislation addressing local economic growth, public safety, and education funding.
