Representative Brett Garner
Brett Garner Rohner is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 31. He assumed office on January 30, 2023, and his current term is set to end on January 1, 2025.
Garner was born in West Valley City, Utah. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in 2005 and also studied at Southern Utah University. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Before his tenure in the House of Representatives, Garner ran in a special election for the Utah State Board of Education to represent District 3. However, he lost in the special general election on November 3, 2020.
Garner was appointed to the Utah House of Representatives to replace former Rep. Karen Kwan (D). The seat opened up after Kwan won a special election to replace Sen. Karen Mayne, who resigned due to health reasons. Garner won the election in the first round with 58.82% of the votes.
