Representative Cory Maloy
Cory Maloy, born on July 31, 1962, in Phoenix, Arizona, is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He has been serving in the Utah House of Representatives from the 52nd district. The 6th district was changed to the 52nd district due to redistricting where Maloy was re-elected in 2022.
Maloy assumed office on January 1, 2023, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. Prior to this, he held office in the Utah House of Representatives District 6. His predecessor for the District 52 position was Candice Pierucci, and he was succeeded by Matt Gwynn in District 6.
In terms of education, Maloy earned an associate degree in business from Ricks College in Idaho and a bachelor’s degree in communications, with an emphasis in public relations, from Brigham Young University. His career experience includes owning and operating his own public relations business, working as the executive vice president and public relations strategist at SnappConner PR, as director of public relations and corporate communications from MediConnect, and in various other public relations roles.
Throughout his tenure, Maloy has been assigned to several committees. In 2023-2024, he served as the Chair of the Senate Business and Labor Committee and was a member of the Government Operations Committee. In 2021-2022, he was the Chair of the Government Operations Committee and a member of the House Business and Labor Committee. In 2019-2020, he served as the Vice Chair of the House Business and Labor Committee and was a member of the House Economic Development and Workforce Services Committee.
Cory Maloy lives in Lehi, Utah. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). He ran for re-election to the Utah House of Representatives to represent District 52 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
