Representative Ray Ward
Raymond P. Ward is an American politician and physician who is currently serving as a member of the Utah House of Representatives from the 19th district. He was elected in November 2014 and assumed office on January 1, 2015.
Ward earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, followed by a PhD in pharmacology and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Washington School of Medicine. In addition to his political career, Ward works as a family physician at Cope Family Medicine.
Throughout his tenure, Representative Ward has served on several committees including the Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee, the House Health and Human Services Committee, House Transportation Committee, the Legislative Process Committee, and the Education and Mental Health Coordinating Council.
He has also sponsored numerous legislations, some of which include the Social Services Base Budget, Extension for Controlled Substance Prescription Requirements, Vehicle Registration Amendments, Office of State Debt Collection Amendments, and Medication Dispenser Amendments.
In the 2022 elections, Ward ran for re-election to the Utah House of Representatives to represent District 19 and won in the general election held on November 8, 2022.
Representative Ward lives in Bountiful, Utah with his wife Beverly and their three children.
