Stephen Whyte is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 63 in the Utah House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 1, 2023, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025.

Whyte ran for re-election to the Utah House of Representatives to represent District 63 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. Prior to this, the Utah House Majority Caucus appointed Whyte to the state House on November 6, 2021, to fill the vacancy created by Francis Gibson’s resignation.

Stephen Whyte earned a B.A. in political science and an M.P.A. from Brigham Young University. His career experience includes working as the vice president of Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, the vice president of university marketing and communications, and a professor of communications at Utah Valley University. He also worked as an international affairs specialist in Washington, D.C.

In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Whyte was assigned to the Senate Business and Labor Committee as Vice Chair and the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee.

In the general election for Utah House of Representatives District 63, Stephen Whyte won with 100.0% of the votes, totaling 12,912 votes. The Republican primary election was canceled, and incumbent Stephen Whyte advanced from the Republican primary for Utah House of Representatives District 63.
