Bobby Farlice-Rubio is a member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Caledonia-1 District. He assumed office on January 4, 2023. His current term ends on January 8, 2025.

Bobby Farlice-Rubio was born in the Mission District of San Francisco, California, to a Cuban immigrant mother and a Black American father. He spent most of his childhood in a Spanish-speaking household within the Cuban American community of Hialeah, Florida. Bobby attended Amherst College in Massachusetts, where he majored in English with a concentration in Film Studies, graduating in 2001.

Bobby has had a diverse career, including roles as an educator, musician, and park ranger. He worked for 18 years at the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, where he taught science, nature, and culture. Currently, he serves as a Park Ranger and Assistant Park Manager at Stillwater State Park and Seyon Lodge State Park in Groton State Forest. Bobby is also a regular contributor to the North Star Monthly, a newspaper based in Danville, Vermont, where he writes a column entitled “Consider This.”

Bobby Farlice-Rubio was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives in 2022 and assumed office on January 4, 2023. He represents the Caledonia-1 district and serves on the House Committee on Health Care and the Canvassing Committee. His legislative interests include healthcare, education, and environmental conservation.

Bobby is a lifelong musician, playing guitar and singing in the band Tritium Well. He enjoys gardening, planting trees, hiking, and mountain biking in the Northeast Kingdom. He has raised three children in Barnet, Vermont, alongside their mother. Their oldest child serves in the United States Air Force.

Bobby is actively involved in his community, serving on several boards, including the Catamount Arts Board of Directors, the RuralEdge Housing and Community Trust Board of Directors, the Northeast Kingdom Astronomy Foundation Board of Directors, the Kingdom Access Television Board of Directors, and as a Corporator for the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital.

Representative Bobby Farlice-Rubio is a dedicated public servant with a rich background in education, environmental stewardship, and community involvement. His diverse experiences and commitment to his constituents make him a valuable member of the Vermont House of Representatives.
