Diane Lanpher is a dedicated public servant representing the Addison-3 district in the Vermont House of Representatives. Born in Buffalo, New York, Diane moved to Vergennes, Vermont, in 1984 with her family. She is a proud graduate of Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York.

Diane’s professional journey includes significant contributions to public health and community service. She served as the Training Coordinator for the Vermont Department of Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs. Additionally, she worked with the New England Institute of Addiction Studies in Augusta, Maine, focusing on the Vermont Adolescent Treatment Enhancement Grant.

Her commitment to public service extends to her local community in Vergennes, where she has been an active member of the City Council and chaired the Vergennes Energy Savings Committee. Diane is also a member of the Addison County Transportation Advisory Committee and serves on the board of Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR).

Diane’s dedication to her community is further exemplified by her involvement with St. Peter’s Church in Vergennes, where she served on the parish council and was a religious educator for 18 years. She is also a member of the Vergennes Lions Club.

In the Vermont House of Representatives, Diane has held several key positions. She served on the House Transportation Committee from 2009 to 2015 and the House Appropriations Committee from 2015 to 2021. Currently, she is the Chair of the House Appropriations Committee. Diane has also been appointed to the State Infrastructure Bank (SIB) board and the Vermont Child Poverty Council. She is a member of the Climate Caucus and was invited to co-chair the Council of State Government’s National Transportation Public Policy Committee for 2015–2016.

Diane is married to Jim, and together they have three grown children and three grandchildren. The couple previously owned a Horace Mann Insurance agency in South Burlington, which they sold, although Jim continues to work part-time for the new owners.
