Representative Jarrod Sammis

JARROD E. SAMMIS of Castleton, VT (Rutland County) was born in Middlebury, VT. Sammis has family roots in the region dating back centuries between Vermont and Upstate New York (particularly Ticonderoga). Sammis is a graduate of Fair Haven Union High School and is an alum of Castleton State College, where he earned his B.S. in Communications, Public Relations, and Political Science. He currently helps operate his family-owned real estate business as a realtor and marketing communications coordinator. Sammis has also worked in the fields of substance dependency prevention & treatment advocacy, microelectronics manufacturing, environmental conservation (land and water), educational administration, and the radio industry via The Radio Vermont Group. Sammis has also worked / volunteered with many groups across the region including (but not limited to): St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Essex County Heroin-Opioid Prevention Task Force (ECHO), Rutland Regional Chamber of Commerce, Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, the Vermont Association of Broadcasters, the American Legion Veterans Association, the Hometown Heroes Banner Program, the Ticonderoga Area Neighbors Addressing Drug Abuse coalition (TiNADA), and the Castleton State College / Castleton University “Safe Ride” drunk driving prevention program.
