Senator Rob Plunkett

Robert Plunkett, a member of the Democratic Party, serves in the Vermont State Senate representing the Bennington District. He assumed office on January 8, 2025, and his current term is set to conclude on January 6, 2027.

Born and raised in Bennington, Vermont, Plunkett has deep roots in his community. He graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School and pursued higher education at Amherst College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He later attended Brooklyn Law School, obtaining his law degree and laying the foundation for his career in public service.

Before his tenure in the Vermont State Senate, Plunkett built a reputation as a dedicated Deputy State’s Attorney in Bennington.
