Senator Aaron Rouse Contact information

Aaron Roosevelt Rouse (born January 8, 1984) is an American politician and former football player. A member of the Democratic Party, Rouse represents the 22nd district in the Senate of Virginia. He previously served on the Virginia Beach City Council.

Rouse played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies before being selected by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. During his NFL career, he played for the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, and Arizona Cardinals. Additionally, Rouse was part of the Omaha Nighthawks and Virginia Destroyers in the United Football League (UFL).

In 2019, Rouse was elected to the Virginia Beach City Council, representing an at-large seat. He won a special election in January 2023 to fill the open seat for Virginia’s 7th Senate district. As a senator, he now represents the 22nd district, which includes parts of the cities of Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

Rouse attended First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach, where he excelled in various positions, including outside linebacker and wide receiver. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in the Virginia Beach District during his senior year.

Educated at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Rouse graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. His commitment to public service and his background as a student-athlete have shaped his career in both politics and sports.
