Adam Paul Ebbin (born November 10, 1963) is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. He has a rich history of public service, having served both in the Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate.

Early Life and Education: Adam Ebbin was born in Huntington, New York. He graduated from American University with a degree in Public Communication and Political Science in 1985. Ebbin further honed his leadership skills as a Fellow at the University of Virginia’s Sorensen Institute of Political Leadership in 2000. His commitment to public service led him to participate in the David Bohnett LGBTQ Victory Institute Leadership Fellowship program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

House of Delegates: Ebbin’s political journey began when he sought the 49th district seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in 2003. He won a competitive Democratic primary and went on to serve in the House from 2004 to 2012. During his tenure, Ebbin championed progressive causes, including gun violence prevention, education, and LGBTQ rights. His district included parts of South Arlington, Del Ray, Arlandria, and Bailey’s Crossroads.

Virginia State Senate: In 2011, Ebbin decided to run for the Virginia State Senate, following Patsy Ticer’s decision not to seek re-election.
