Representative Bobby Orrock
Robert Dickson “Bobby” Orrock, Sr. (born November 13, 1955) is an American politician. Since 1990, he has been a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 66th district in the east-central part of the state. This district includes parts of Caroline and Spotsylvania counties. Caroline County is included in the Greater Richmond Region, while Spotsylvania County is part of the Washington metropolitan area.
Bobby Orrock’s commitment to public service began when he was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1989. Representing parts of Caroline and Spotsylvania Counties, he has dedicated himself to creating a better Virginia for future generations. His vision encompasses economic opportunities, quality education, and strong family values.
Career : Bobby’s passion for education led him to teach at Spotsylvania High School for over three decades. He understands the critical role education plays in preparing young people for success in a global economy. His goal is to ensure that coming generations have improved opportunities to compete while maintaining a high quality of life.
Education : Bobby’s educational journey started at Ladysmith High School, where he graduated in 1974. He then attended Germanna Community College from 1975 to 1976 before pursuing a B.S. in Agriculture Education at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1978. For his graduate studies, he attended Virginia State University, earning a Masters of Education in Agriculture Education in 1988.
Local Involvement : Beyond his legislative duties, Bobby remains actively engaged in local civic organizations. He serves as an EMT and trustee with the Ladysmith Volunteer Rescue Squad. Additionally, he was a hunter safety instructor with the Virginia Game Commission. As a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church, he contributes as a deacon and trustee. Bobby also works part-time as a radio announcer at WFLS radio in Fredericksburg.
Family : Bobby is married to Debra Orrock and has three adult children: Robert Jr., Lila Hiltz, and Welford. He takes immense pride in being a grandparent to Abby, Walter, Zane, and Charlotte.
