Senator David Suetterlein
David Robert Suetterlein, born on January 4, 1985, is an American politician currently serving as a Republican member of the Senate of Virginia. He represents District 4, which includes all of Roanoke City and Salem City, as well as parts of Montgomery County and Roanoke County.
Suetterlein received his education at Grove City College, where he earned a B.A. degree. He is married to Ashley Suetterlein. Before entering politics, he was actively involved in the Roanoke County Republican Party, serving as Chair from 2012 to 2016 and Secretary from 2008 to 2012.
His political career began when he worked on the campaign and senate staff of Ken Cuccinelli. He also served on the senate staff of his predecessor, Ralph K. Smith. In 2015, Suetterlein was elected to the Virginia Senate, and he assumed office on January 10, 2016. His commitment to public service extends to various committees and commissions, including those related to education, health, transportation, and regional development.
