Representative Kimberly Adams

Kimberly Adams is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 82. She assumed office on January 14, 2026, and her current term will conclude on January 12, 2028.

Kimberly Adams, also known as Kimberly Pope Adams, was born and raised in Hopewell, Virginia, specifically in the “Five Forks” area, where she developed a deep connection to her community and its traditions. She is the youngest of three daughters and pursued her education at Virginia Tech, earning her bachelor’s degree before becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Professionally, Adams worked as an auditor for the State of Virginia, a role that gave her extensive experience in accountability, financial oversight, and public service. Adams first ran for the Virginia House of Delegates in 2023, narrowly losing to Republican incumbent Kim Taylor by just 53 votes. In the 2025 general election, she ran again and defeated Taylor by a margin of about 9 percent, marking a significant swing in voter support and securing her seat in the House of Delegates. District 82 includes Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Prince George, and Surry counties, areas that reflect both urban and rural challenges, and Adams has emphasized her commitment to representing all voices within the district.
