Lashrecse D. Aird is a dedicated public servant, a mother of school-age boys, and a champion for working families. Born in Buffalo, New York, on June 22, 1986, she has made significant contributions to her community and the state of Virginia.

Education:

• Lashrecse earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia State University in 2008.
• She later served as the Executive Director of the Virginia State University & Richard Bland College Joint School of Professional and Technical Studies.

Professional and Civic Engagement:

• Lashrecse is a proud Baptist and has been actively involved in social action initiatives. She served as the Virginia State Social Action Coordinator for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
• Additionally, she has been a member of the Board of Directors at Chippenham Johnston-Willis Hospital.
• In 2021, USA Today recognized her as Woman of the Year.
• The University of Virginia honored her with the Emerging Leader Award.

Political Career:

• Lashrecse made history by becoming the youngest woman ever elected to the Virginia House of Delegates, where she served three terms from 2016 to 2022.
• In 2024, she was sworn in as a member of the Virginia State Senate, representing District 13. Her district includes Charles City County, Prince George County, Surry County, Sussex County, Hopewell City, and Petersburg City. Parts of Dinwiddie County and Henrico County are also part of her constituency.
