Senator Michael Jones

Michael Jones is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves in the Virginia State Senate, representing District 15. He assumed office on January 17, 2026, and his current term will conclude on January 12, 2030.

Michael Jones, born in Portsmouth, Virginia in 1967, has built a career that blends public service, ministry, and community leadership. Before joining the Virginia State Senate, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates representing District 77 from January 2024 until January 2026. His legislative career was preceded by service on the Richmond City Council, where he represented the 9th Voter District from 2017 to 2023.
