Representative Brian Burnett

Brian Burnett, a member of the Republican Party, serves in the Washington House of Representatives representing District 12-Position 1. He assumed office on January 13, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 11, 2027.

Brian Burnett’s career is marked by a deep commitment to public service and law enforcement. Before entering politics, he spent over 25 years in law enforcement, including 12 years as the Chelan County Sheriff. During his tenure as sheriff, he played a pivotal role in enhancing public safety and addressing mental health crises by initiating the Behavior Health Unit within the sheriff’s office. His leadership extended beyond his county as he served as president of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs and the Washington State Sheriffs’ Association. Additionally, he was appointed as a commissioner for the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission, showcasing his dedication to improving law enforcement standards across the state.

Burnett’s transition to the Washington House of Representatives was driven by his passion for public safety, fiscal responsibility, and protecting private property rights. His campaign emphasized reducing the tax burden on Washington residents and promoting policies that ensure the well-being of communities. In the 2024 general election, he secured victory with 53.5% of the vote, defeating his opponent Heather Koellen.

Beyond his professional achievements, Brian Burnett is deeply involved in his community. He has been affiliated with several nonprofit organizations, including the North Central Washington Chaplain Foundation, UV Cares, Family Lines, and Royal Family Kids. These organizations focus on supporting first responders, providing mental health and addiction treatment, and offering programs for foster children and family bonding through outdoor activities.

Brian Burnett resides in Wenatchee, Washington, with his wife, April. The couple has been married for 37 years and has raised seven children. They are proud grandparents to ten grandchildren, with more on the way. His strong family values and Christian faith have been central to his life and work, guiding his approach to leadership and service.
