Senator Drew MacEwen
Drew MacEwen, R-Shelton, represents the 35th Legislative District, which includes Mason County and parts of Kitsap and Thurston counties. First elected in 2012, he served a decade in the House before moving to the Senate in 2023. MacEwen is the ranking Republican on the Senate Environment, Energy and Technology Committee. Other assignments are the committees on Transportation, Business and Financial Services, and Labor and Commerce.
MacEwen spent his early career in the U.S. Navy, serving six years including five patrols with the Navy’s submarine force on the USS Nevada. He developed a love for the 35th District while stationed at Naval Base Kitsap. Following his service, he settled in Mason County, where he founded the firm Falcon Financial, Inc. He also serves as the managing partner of the investment firm Mountain Lakes Capital Management LLC. He has invested in several local businesses including The Dock in Port Orchard and 1889 Prime Steakhouse in Olympia. He is a former president of the Shelton-Mason Chamber of Commerce. Other community involvements include the Rotary Club of Shelton, the Mason General Hospital Foundation, Kitsap Medical Society, and Love, Inc. He is a member of the St. David’s Parish community in Shelton.
MacEwen is an advocate for public safety, better schools, government accountability, tax relief, and economic growth and greater opportunity. He has earned recognitions for his work from the National Federation of Independent Business and the Association of Washington Business. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Excelsior College and is a graduate of the Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program. He resides in Shelton with his wife Danelle and has two grown children, both Marines, and four grandchildren.
