Perry Dozier, born in 1958 or 1959, is an American politician affiliated with the Republican Party. He has been serving as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing District 16, since January 11, 2021.

Perry L. Dozier, a Republican member of the Washington State Senate from District 16, was born and raised in the 16th Legislative District. He is an advocate for the issues important to southeast Washington, including a sound business climate, job creation, support for agriculture and education, and an efficient state government that delivers services without burdening taxpayers.

Senator Dozier brings practical skills learned from a lifetime of farming and agricultural affairs, building on the district’s tradition of community consensus and problem-solving. He maintains that government should listen to the people and reflect their concerns.

A wheat farmer from Waitsburg, Senator Dozier has owned and managed irrigated and dryland farming operations in Walla Walla and Columbia counties for over 35 years. He graduated from Prescott High School and earned a B.A. in economics from Whitman College.

In the Senate, he serves on the Business, Financial Services & Trade Committee (Ranking Member), Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee, and Human Services, Reentry & Rehabilitation Committee. He is also part of the Legislative Executive WorkFirst Poverty Reduction Oversight Task Force.

Before joining the Legislature, Senator Dozier served as a Walla Walla County commissioner from 2009 to 2016. He has been actively involved in the state’s agricultural community, testifying before Congress on agricultural issues. He is a past president of the Washington Association of Wheat Growers and a former board member of the Northwest Grain Growers and Tri-Cities Grain. Additionally, he has served on the Washington State Barley Commission.

Beyond politics, Senator Dozier is a licensed commercial pilot with over 35 years of flying experience. He and his wife, Darleen, have two grown sons, Logan and Kyle.
